About the game
Maze Muncher is a fast, addictive chase game set in glowing neon mazes. Your hero is Mimi, a round orange furball with little cat ears who gobbles up every dot in the corridors. Hot on her heels are four mischievous Shades, each with a mind of its own: the pointy-hatted Wizard, propeller-capped Whirly, top-hatted Dapper and the horned-helmet Spike.
The goal is simple: eat every dot in the maze and don't get caught. But swallow one of the glowing power orbs in the corners and the tables turn. The Shades go blue, start trembling and run for it, and now you are the hunter. With six original mazes, a fresh colour theme every three levels, bonus treats and enemies that get quicker as you go, it brings the spirit of the classic maze chase to a whole new look. No download needed: play it free in your browser on your phone, tablet or computer.
How to play
- On a computer: steer with the arrow keys or W A S D. P or Esc pauses the game.
- On a phone: swipe anywhere on the screen to change direction. You can also use the on-screen d-pad and hide it with the 🎮 button.
- You can press a direction early: Mimi turns at the first opening, so you take corners without losing speed.
- Dots are worth 10 and power orbs 50. After an orb, the Shades you catch are worth 200, 400, 800 and 1600 in a row; their eyes rush back to the den and they come back to life there.
- A bonus treat appears below the den twice per level, from a candy to a golden key, worth 100 to 5,000 points.
- Go through the side tunnels to pop out on the other side of the maze. Shades slow down in there, which makes it a perfect escape route.
- You start with 3 lives and earn an extra life at 10,000 points. When you run out, you can watch a short ad once to continue with +1 life from where you left off.

Maze Muncher tips
- Save the power orbs: don't eat the corner orbs straight away. Wait until the Shades are close behind you, then grab one and catch all four for the full 3,000-point chain.
- Use the scatter breaks: every so often the Shades retreat to their corners. Use those moments to clear the tricky middle of the maze.
- Remember the tunnels: when you're cornered, dive into a tunnel. Shades slow down inside and you gain precious distance.
- Turn early: pressing your next direction before the corner saves time. Mimi slows down slightly while eating, but runs at full speed through empty corridors.
- Don't trust Dapper: it looks like it's backing off when it gets close, but it can suddenly change direction at a junction.
- Prepare for later levels: the scared time gets shorter as you progress. Leave a flashing Shade alone, it's about to turn back.
FAQ
Is Maze Muncher free? Yes, completely free. There is nothing to download; it runs in your browser on phones and computers.
How many levels are there? The levels never end. Six original mazes take turns, the colour theme changes every three levels and the Shades keep getting faster.
How are points calculated? Every 500 of your game score is 1 leaderboard point, and each level you clear adds +2. Your best score and the highest level you reach are saved to your account.
I ran out of lives, what now? Once per game you can watch a short ad to get +1 life and carry on in the same level with the dots you have left.
