About the game

Swim Champion 3D is a free 3D swimming game that follows a kid's journey from a first nervous dip to the world championship podium. You race in a packed indoor Olympic hall with see-through rippling water, lane ropes, backstroke flags and a big scoreboard. Every stroke throws up spray, a white wake trails behind you, and the stands jump to their feet in the final metres.

At the heart of the game is rhythm stroking: tap the left and right arm buttons in turn while the needle sits in the green zone of the rhythm bar. Each well-timed stroke is a "Perfect" and pushes you faster, while hitting the same arm twice or splashing in a panic slows you down and tires you out. You also manage your breathing, stamina, starts and wall turns, so this is no button-mashing race but a real game of skill and timing.

First, Coach Marina takes you through Swim School: getting comfortable in the water, holding your breath, kicking, arm rhythm, breathing timing, starts and flip turns. Then you train to get stronger, collect medals from the Neighbourhood Pool all the way to the World Championship, buy suits, caps and goggles, and race real people in online races. Play with big touch buttons on your phone or the keyboard on a computer, with nothing to download.

How to play

  • Strokes: In freestyle and backstroke, tap LEFT ARM and RIGHT ARM alternately (โ† โ†’ or A D on a keyboard). In breaststroke and butterfly both arms move together: one big ๐Ÿ™Œ BOTH ARMS button (or any arrow key).
  • Rhythm: After each stroke the needle on the rhythm bar starts again. Tap while it's in the green zone for a perfect stroke; back-to-back perfects build a streak and extra speed. Tap too early and you tire, too late and you slow down.
  • Breathing: The blue ๐Ÿซง bar is your oxygen. When it runs low, tap the middle BREATHE button (Space / W) right after a stroke. Breathing with a full tank wastes time, and running out slows you down. On your back your face is out of the water, so breathing is free.
  • Stamina: The yellow โšก bar shows how tired you are. In 100 and 200 m races, pace yourself or you'll fade at the end.
  • Start: Whistle, "Take your marksโ€ฆ" and BEEP! Jumping before the beep is a false start: a warning the first time, disqualification the second. The faster your reaction, the longer your dive.
  • Turns: Near the wall the middle button becomes TURN and a meter appears. Press it 1-2 metres from the wall while the meter is green to flip and push off hard. Too late and you bump the wall and lose time.
  • Final sprint: In the last 5 metres the rhythm speeds up, your leftover stamina turns into speed and the crowd goes wild.
  • Camera: The ๐ŸŽฅ button or C switches between side, behind and top views.

Swim School, training and career

Swim School is five short, fun lessons: water comfort and breath holding, kicking with a board, arm stroke rhythm, breathing timing, and starts and wall turns. Each lesson takes 20-40 seconds and earns a badge. Graduate to unlock the races and online mode.

Training improves your swimmer's four stats: Power (top speed), Stamina (resistance to fatigue), Technique (rhythm window and speed) and Breath (oxygen use). The rhythm drill, breathing drill, start reflex, turn drill and endurance swim are scored with 1-3 stars. Stats grow through hard work, not coins: you get a limited number of sessions each day, and hiring a coach gives you more sessions and faster progress.

Finish in the top three to win a medal: ๐Ÿฅ‰ one, ๐Ÿฅˆ two, ๐Ÿฅ‡ three stars. Medals fill your trophy cabinet and prize money goes to the shop. In medley races every length is a different stroke (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle), and the controls change automatically. In the Time Trial you see your personal best as a blue ghost swimmer in your lane and try to beat it. In the daily challenge everyone swims the same stroke and distance against the same rivals, with a daily ranking plus weekly leaderboards for every stroke and distance. And there are 16 achievements to unlock.

๐ŸŒ Online swim race

Log in, open Online Race, create a table and send the ๐Ÿ”— link to your friends, or use quick play to join a waiting table. 2 to 6 swimmers race in the pool; the host picks the stroke and distance (50, 100 or 200 m), and computer swimmers can fill empty lanes. Everyone starts on the same BEEP and sees their rivals live in their own lanes.

Online races are fair: everyone swims with the same stats and gear bonuses are switched off; only your suit, cap and goggles show. Rhythm, breathing, starts and turns decide the winner. You earn online points by place: 1st +25, 2nd +15, 3rd +10, everyone else +5 (half when you race only bots). The server checks times and the order, a results table appears at the end, and a rematch is one tap away.

Tips

  • Rhythm first, speed second: Tapping faster won't make you faster. Hitting the green zone and building a perfect streak works far better.
  • Pair breaths with strokes: When oxygen drops below half, take a stroke and breathe straight after it; that breath is "free". The same goes for breaststroke and butterfly.
  • Nail the start: Listen for the BEEP; a reaction under 0.3 seconds means a long, fast dive. But never jump early!
  • Be bold at the wall: A perfect turn can push you a body length ahead of your rivals. Press while the meter is green.
  • Pace long races: In a 200 m race, stroke a little more calmly in the first lengths. If your โšก bar turns red you'll lose speed over the last 50 m. Save something for the final sprint.
  • Train every day: Your daily sessions reset. Work on your weak spot: stamina for butterfly and long races, power for sprints.
  • Race your ghost: In the Time Trial, notice where your ghost pulls away. You'll see whether you lose time at the start, the turns or the finish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play if I can't swim? Of course! The game starts with Swim School, and Coach Marina explains every step in speech bubbles.
Why are the races locked? Races unlock once you finish all five lessons. In the career, winning a medal in one race unlocks the next.
Can I buy stats with coins? No. Stats only grow through training. Coins buy suits, caps, goggles and a coach; gear speed bonuses are tiny and switched off online.
What do rewarded ads give? If you like, you can watch a short ad to double a race's coin prize, or once a day to get 3 bonus training sessions.
Does it work on phones? Yes, in portrait and landscape. The stroke buttons sit bottom left and bottom right, with the breathe/turn button in the middle, and multi-touch is supported.
