About the game

Taekwondo Master 3D is a free 3D taekwondo game that follows a white-belt rookie from their very first bow in the dojang all the way to the world championship podium. You fight on a blue mat in a packed arena under the referee's eye, wearing blue (chung) or red (hong) body protectors. Every clean kick shakes the mat and throws off sparks, the crowd roars, and when you land a head kick or a spinning kick the whole arena jumps to its feet.

At the heart of the game is real taekwondo scoring: a punch is worth 1, a body kick 2 and a head kick 3, and spinning kicks add +2. Stepping out of bounds, falling on your own or staying passive too long earns a gam-jeom penalty that hands your opponent a point. Matches have 3 rounds and you need 2 to win, with a golden point if it's still tied. So this is no button masher: distance, timing, defence and stamina decide who wins.

First, Master Kartal teaches you stance, kicks, punches, blocking and dodging, spinning kicks, combos and the rules in eight short dojang lessons. Then you train to get stronger, climb belt by belt through poomsae and sparring exams, win medals in tournaments against the computer, and buy a new dobok and protective gear in the shop. When you're ready, step into online matches against real opponents on equal terms. Play with big touch buttons on your phone or the keyboard on a computer, with nothing to download.

How to play

  • Movement: โ—€ โ–ถ (A D or โ† โ†’) to step in and out and control the distance. โ–ฒ HIGH (W) sets up head kicks, โ–ผ DUCK (S) slips under kicks aimed at your head.
  • Kicks: KICK (J) throws a roundhouse kick (dollyo chagi). Forward + KICK is a front kick (ap chagi) that pushes your opponent back. โ–ฒ + KICK is a head kick.
  • Punch: PUNCH (K) scores 1 point to the body at close range, perfect when your opponent crowds you.
  • Special techniques: Back + KICK or SPECIAL (I) for a back kick (dwi chagi), SPECIAL + โ–ฒ for a spinning hook kick (5 points!), SPECIAL + Forward for an axe kick (naeryeo chagi).
  • Combos: Press KICK again the moment your roundhouse lands to follow up with a double kick (dubal chagi). Combos build your streak and fire up the crowd.
  • Defence: Hold BLOCK (L) to stop incoming attacks. Countering an opponent who just bounced off your block is the best way to score.
  • Stamina: The bar under your name is your stamina. Non-stop attacking tires you out; when you're tired you slow down and can slip on a spinning kick (gam-jeom!).
  • Pause: The โธ button or P pauses the match.

Dojang, belts and training

The dojang has eight lessons: stance and footwork, front and roundhouse kicks, punching, blocking and dodging, head kicks, spinning kicks, combos, and scoring and rules. Master Kartal explains every step in speech bubbles, holds the pads, attacks you, and finishes with a short sparring bout. Every belt exam has two parts. First comes a poomsae (Sky Gate, Mountain Wind, Dragon Pathโ€ฆ), a rhythm form where you press the right button as each move reaches the line; you need at least 70% accuracy. Then you have to win a one-round sparring bout. You can also unlock techniques early in the shop.

Training improves your fighter's five stats: Power (kick impact), Speed (attack and footwork speed), Stamina (staying fresh), Technique (accuracy and combos) and Defence (blocking and dodging). Heavy bag, pad reflex, stamina circuit, combo drills and defence drills are each scored with 1-3 stars. Stats grow through hard work, not coins, and you get 6 training sessions every day.

Against the computer: career and free match

The career is five tournaments: ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Club Cup, ๐Ÿ™๏ธ City Championship, ๐ŸŸ๏ธ National Championship, ๐Ÿฐ European Championship and ๐ŸŒ World Championship. Each one is a 3 to 5 fight knockout bracket, and the higher tournaments require a certain belt. Your opponents have different fighting styles (balanced, aggressive, defensive, counter fighter or kicker), and each one tests you in a different way. Medals fill your trophy cabinet and prize money goes to the shop.

In a free match you pick from five difficulty levels, from very easy to master, plus the opponent's style, round length (30-90 s) and number of rounds. It's ideal for trying out new techniques or squeezing in a fast fight.

Daily gifts, quests and challenge

Every day you log in a daily gift is waiting; over a 7-day streak it grows from 100 to 1,000 coins and also hands out bonus training sessions. Each day brings 3 daily quests (land head kicks, pull off combos, spinning kicks, blocks, winsโ€ฆ) with an extra bonus for finishing all three. In the daily challenge everyone faces the same opponent, and the biggest winning margins top the day's leaderboard. There are also 16 achievements to unlock.

๐ŸŒ Online taekwondo

Log in, open Online Match, create a table and send the ๐Ÿ”— link to a friend, or sit down at a waiting table. One fighter takes the blue (chung) corner and the other the red (hong) corner; the host picks the round length and number of rounds. If nobody shows up, you can fight the computer instead.

Online matches are fair: everyone fights with the same stats (6/10) and every technique, with no gear bonuses; only your look and belt carry over. A server referee checks the points, distance and penalties. A win earns +20 online points (half against the computer), a round-by-round results table appears at the end, and a rematch is one tap away.

Tips

  • Distance is everything: Wait just outside kicking range and meet your opponent with a roundhouse the moment they step in. Up close, not much works except the punch.
  • Go for the head, but know the risk: A head kick scores 3 but takes longer to throw, and it whiffs if your opponent ducks. Land a few body kicks first to bring their guard down.
  • Counter after a block: An opponent who bounces off your block is open for a moment. A quick back kick there is worth 4 points.
  • Chain your combos: Don't be late with the second KICK after a roundhouse lands; double kicks bring points and quest progress.
  • Manage your stamina: When the bar turns red, step back and hold block. Throwing spinning kicks while exhausted leads to falls and gam-jeoms.
  • Watch the line: The front kick pushes opponents back. Pin them against the edge and they may step out for a penalty, and don't let your own back touch the line.
  • Train every day: Sessions reset daily. Belt exams require a minimum total stat level, so work on your weakest stat.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play if I've never done taekwondo? Of course! The game starts in the dojang, where Master Kartal shows you every technique step by step while you practise on the pads.
Why are tournaments and online play locked? They unlock once you finish all eight lessons. Higher tournaments also require a certain belt.
Can I buy stats with coins? No. Stats only grow through training. Coins buy a dobok, headgear, gloves, foot protectors and techniques; gear bonuses are small and switched off online.
What do rewarded ads give? If you like, you can watch a short ad to double the coin prize of a match you won, or once a day get 3 bonus training sessions when you've used yours up.
Does it work on phones? Yes, in portrait and landscape. The direction buttons sit bottom left and the kick, punch, block and special buttons bottom right. Multi-touch is supported, so you can move and kick at the same time.
