About the game

Billiards is a realistic, completely free take on classic 8-ball pool, the game you'll find in cafรฉs and pool halls all over Turkey. Step up to a wooden table with fresh green cloth, line up the cue ball, set your power and send the balls into the pockets one by one. Your opponent is the computer, with Easy, Medium and Hard levels to choose from.

The balls behave like they do on a real table: they slide, then roll, pass their energy on when they collide, rebound off the cushions and can even rattle in the jaws of a pocket. Add follow, draw or side spin and leave the cue ball exactly where you want it for the next shot. The numbered solids and stripes really spin as they roll, so you can watch the numbers and stripes turn. Play Billiards online free in your browser on a computer or phone, with nothing to download.

How to play

  • Goal: pot the seven balls of your group (1-7 solids or 9-15 stripes), then sink the black 8 ball to win.
  • You always break. The table starts open; after the break, the first ball you pot decides your group.
  • Pot one of your balls and you keep shooting. Commit a foul and your opponent gets ball in hand, placing the cue ball anywhere on the table.
  • Fouls: potting the cue ball, hitting no ball, hitting a ball from the wrong group first, or no ball touching a cushion after contact.
  • Pot the 8 before your group is cleared, or foul while potting it, and you lose. You don't need to call your pocket.
  • On a computer: aim with the mouse, click the table, pull the mouse back and let go. You can also use the power bar on the right. Arrow keys fine-tune aim and power, Space shoots.
  • On a phone: the table fills the screen in portrait. Aim with your finger, fine-tune with โŸฒ โŸณ and pull the power bar on the right down, then release.

Online Billiards: play a friend or a real opponent

Ready for a human challenge? Head to ๐ŸŒ Play online. With a free account you can open a table and send the ๐Ÿ”— invite link to a friend, sit at a table that's waiting in the lobby, or hit โšก Quick play to grab the first free seat. The game begins the moment the second player sits down, and the break switches sides every game. While your opponent lines up a shot, you can watch their cue move on the table as a faint shadow.

Every online shot is simulated and refereed on the server: you only send your aim, power and spin, and the server works out where every ball goes, any foul, the groups and the winner, while both screens replay exactly the same shot. Nobody can move the balls or tamper with the result. You have 45 seconds per shot; if the clock runs out, the turn passes and your opponent gets ball in hand. Three timeouts in a row, resigning or leaving mid-game counts as a forfeit. Chat with quick messages and emoji at the table. A win is worth +20 online points on a separate online leaderboard.

Tips

  • Don't rush the easy balls: instead of potting your balls near the pockets straight away, deal with the awkward ones first. The easy ones help you get back into position later.
  • Think about the cue ball: on every shot, look at where the cue ball will stop, not just at the object ball. Draw and follow make the next shot easier.
  • Play softly: hitting too hard makes balls rattle in the jaws and sends the cue ball flying. For most shots, 30-50% power is plenty.
  • Make the most of ball in hand: when the computer fouls, place the cue ball right behind an object ball, in a straight line to a pocket.
  • Plan for the 8: while potting your last balls, try to leave the cue ball with a comfortable angle on the 8.

FAQ

Is Billiards free? Yes, completely free. No download or install needed; it runs in the browser on computers, tablets and phones.
Which rules are used? Common 8-ball rules: open table, the first potted ball decides the groups, ball in hand after a foul, and the 8 goes last. No pocket calling.
How do I add spin? Tap the small white ball at the bottom of the screen and move the red dot up (follow), down (draw) or to the sides (side spin).
What do I get for watching an ad? You can unlock the long guide line for a whole game, take back your last shot once after a loss, or play a rematch for double points.
Can the Hard level be beaten? Yes! The Hard opponent is accurate and plays position, but it still makes mistakes. Punish its fouls.
Can I play pool with a friend? Yes. Open a table in the online section and send the invite link; your friend sits down opposite you as soon as they open it and the game starts.
Who breaks in an online game? The player who opened the table breaks first, then the break alternates every game.
