About the game
Master Angler is a relaxing yet surprisingly gripping fishing game with lots of levels that get harder as you go, taking you from a quiet village pond all the way to the deep ocean. Cast your line, wait for the float to dive, strike at just the right moment and reel your catch in. Sounds easy? Every fish behaves differently: a tiny anchovy comes in within seconds, while a giant wels catfish pushes your line to its limit, runs left and right and leaps out of the water when you least expect it.
There are 10 fishing spots and 100 levels, inspired by the landscapes of Turkey and beyond: Village Pond, Mountain River, Dam Lake, The Strait, Aegean Coves, Black Sea, Glacier Lake, Tropical Island, Coral Reef and Deep Ocean. Each spot has its own sky, water and scenery, from poplar-lined villages and an old stone arch bridge to a suspension bridge over the strait, whitewashed Aegean houses and the northern lights. You can catch 87 species: real fish like carp, rudd, trout, pike, anchovy, horse mackerel, bluefish, bonito, sea bass, gilt-head bream, red mullet, turbot, whiting, bluefin tuna and swordfish, plus tropical and deep-sea creatures and a handful of legendary originals.
Your catch goes into your basket, and you sell it at the Fish Market for gold. Prices depend on species, size, rarity and the day's market: some days bluefish is the hot ticket, other days turbot. Spend your gold on better rods, reels, lines, bait and boats at the tackle shop, or keep your prettiest fish in your very own aquarium. How to play
- Cast: Press and hold the screen (or the mouse / Space bar on a computer). The power bar rises and falls; release it and your line arcs through the air into the water. Short casts land in the shallows, long casts in deep water, and each depth has its own fish.
- Wait and strike: The float bobs gently. When a fish nibbles, it only twitches, so don't tap on those fake bites! On a real bite the float dives under, your phone buzzes and "NOW!" flashes on screen. Tap right then. Too early or too late and the fish is gone.
- Reel in: Hold to reel, let go to ease off the line. Keep the needle on the tension bar in the green zone: hit the red and the line snaps, leave it too slack and the fish escapes. Big fish change direction, so drag the opposite way (← → keys on a computer). When a giant leaps out of the water, let go at once!
- Levels: Every level has a goal, such as catching a number of fish, reaching a total weight, landing a sea bass over a certain length, racing the clock or catching a rare species with a specific bait. The fewer casts or the less time you need, the more stars you earn.
- Boss fish: The 10th level of every spot hides a giant boss fish, from the Golden-Scaled Carp to the King of the Deep. They're strong, they turn and they jump. Beat the boss to open the next spot.
- Weather and time: Morning, noon, evening and night, plus sunny, rainy and stormy weather, all change which fish are biting. You'll see the conditions in each level's window.

Tips from the pros
- Pick the right bait: Every fish has a favourite. Carp love corn, trout love worms, bluefish and sea bass go for lures, and big predators want live bait. The Fishdex shows what each hidden species likes.
- Choose your distance: Small fish stay near the shore in the shallows, while big and rare fish live far out in deep water. Watch the "Shallow / Mid / Deep" marks on the power bar.
- Be patient: Don't strike on the first twitch. Wait until the float really dives; on harder levels the strike window gets very short.
- Hold and release: Don't keep holding the whole time. Let go as the needle nears yellow, then reel again once it drops into the middle of the green. Reeling in the green is faster, too.
- Upgrade your gear: A better rod lowers tension and boosts rare fish, a stronger line resists snapping and a faster reel brings fish in quickly. Visit the shop before taking on a boss.
- Watch the market: Sell the species that are in demand today and keep the cheap ones in your aquarium for another day.
- Come back daily: A 7-day login gift, 3 daily quests, a 15-minute lucky time each day and the weekly biggest fish tournament are waiting for you.
FAQ
Is Master Angler free? Yes, it's completely free with nothing to download. You can play right away as a guest; sign up for free to save your progress to an account and join the leaderboard.
How many levels and fish are there? 100 levels across 10 spots and 87 species including the bosses. You might also reel in a few surprises, like a message in a bottle.
How are points calculated? Your leaderboard points are your total stars × 100 plus your angler XP. The weekly tournament ranks the heaviest fish you caught that week, and the top three get 1000, 600 and 400 gold.
What are boats for? You need a rowboat for the Black Sea and Glacier Lake, a fishing boat for the Tropical Island and Coral Reef, and an ocean yacht for the Deep Ocean. Buy them at the shop.
Do I have to watch ads? No. If you like, a short ad can double a sale, save a fish that got away, give you golden bait or extend a level, but the whole game can be finished without ads.
How do I play on a phone? One finger is all you need: hold and release to cast, tap to strike, hold and drag left or right to reel.
