About the game

Drift Master 3D is a free 3D drifting game where you throw your car sideways and slide through corners in a cloud of tyre smoke. The chase camera sits between where the car is pointing and where it is actually going, so you see every drift angle, the black tyre marks left on the tarmac and the white smoke billowing behind you, just like in a racing movie. The engine note climbs with the revs, the tyres squeal as they slide and sparks fly when you kiss a barrier.

The handling feels real but stays fun: pull the handbrake to kick the rear out, keep it sliding on the throttle, and catch it with counter-steer when the angle gets too big. Brake and the nose dives, get on the gas and the rear squats, corner hard and the body rolls; that weight transfer sets the timing of every drift. Each drift is scored by angle × speed × time, and chaining drifts together builds a combo multiplier all the way up to x10.

Six tracks (Harbour, Mountain Pass, City Night, Desert Canyon, Snowy Forest and Drift Arena) hold 30 career missions, plus a three-minute free drive and a daily challenge where everyone drives the same track in the same car. Spend your winnings in the garage on six cars, upgrade the engine, turbo, suspension and tyres, paint your car any colour and pick your rims. How to play

• Steering: turn the wheel at the bottom left with your thumb. In the settings you can swap it for left/right buttons or tilt steering (gyroscope). The wheel centres itself when you let go.
• Pedals: bottom right there is a tall GAS pedal, a BRAKE below and a red HANDBRAKE above. They work while you hold them, and multi-touch lets you steer, accelerate and pull the handbrake at the same time. Hold the brake when stopped to reverse.
• On a computer: W / ↑ gas, S / ↓ brake and reverse, A D / ← → steer, Space handbrake, C camera, R reset to track, P pause.
• To drift: turn in at the corner entry, give the handbrake a short pull and get straight back on the gas as the rear steps out. More gas means more angle; lift and the car straightens. If the angle gets too big, steer into the slide.
• Scoring: the big number in the middle is the score of the drift you are in. When the drift ends it is multiplied by the combo and added to your total. Start the next drift within 3.5 seconds and the multiplier grows; touch a barrier and that drift is lost and the combo drops back to x1.
• Cameras: the 🎥 button or the C key switches between chase, hood and high cameras.

Every car has four parts with five levels each: engine (+8% power), turbo (+5% power and top speed), an angle kit (more steering lock for deeper, steadier slides) and tyres (+4% grip). Twelve paint colours, five rim designs, four spoiler options (GT wing, duck tail…) and five liveries are free. Fancy a car you have not bought yet? Watch a short ad and take it for a three-minute test drive. The leaderboard shows total points, the best drift score on every track and today's ranking.

Every track has orange-striped drift zones where your score is doubled while you slide. Each track has five career missions: a score target, clearing drift zones, an unbroken combo, tandem drifting with the blue ghost car and a master test. Clear a track's last mission to unlock the next one.

Drift techniques and tips

• Handbrake entry: the easiest way in. Turn in as you approach the corner, pull the handbrake for about half a second and roll onto the gas as you release it. The rear slides out by itself.
• Power over: in the strong cars (Thunder V8, Legend Z) flooring the gas mid-corner with the wheel turned spins the rear tyres and starts a drift without the handbrake.
• Steer the angle with the gas: in a drift the throttle sets the angle. More gas means more angle; if the nose is tucking in too far, ease off a little.
• Counter-steer: pointing the front wheels where the car is sliding stops it from spinning. The "counter-steer assist" setting does half of the work for you; switch it off once you want full control.
• Transitions: in S-bends, lift briefly and flick the wheel the other way without leaving the drift; as the weight shifts across, the car swings into a slide the other way. That's how you take two corners in one combo.
• Close calls: sliding within 1.5 metres of a barrier scores 1.5× and gives a bonus. One centimetre too far wipes the combo, so nail a clean drift first, then tighten your line.
• Keep the combo alive: after a drift ends you have 3.5 seconds to start the next one. A little flick on the straights keeps the multiplier going.
• Ghost tandem: tandem time runs while you slide within 15 metres of the ghost car. Don't ram it, just follow its line right behind it.
• Slippery surfaces: grip is lower in the Snowy Forest and Desert Canyon; use shorter handbrake pulls, a gentler throttle, and don't skip the tyre upgrades.

FAQ

Is Drift Master 3D free? Yes, completely free. It runs in your browser on phones, tablets and computers with no download.
How should I hold my phone? Sideways is the most comfortable: the wheel sits under your left thumb, the gas and handbrake under your right. Hold it upright and the controls keep the same layout at the bottom of the screen. The full screen button gives you a bigger view, and you can switch on tilt steering in the settings.
How is the drift score calculated? Slide angle (up to 70°), speed and slide time are multiplied into the live drift score. Drift zones count double and close calls to a barrier count 1.5×. When the drift ends, its score is multiplied by your combo and added to your total.
How do I earn cash? Every run pays a twentieth of the drift points you scored. Clearing a mission for the first time and hitting the daily target pay extra. At the end of a run you can watch a short ad to double the cash, and once a day the garage offers a free part upgrade for watching an ad.
What is the daily challenge? Every day everyone drives the same track in the same stock car for 90 seconds. Your best score of the day goes on a separate daily leaderboard, and hitting the target for the first time pays a 300 cash bonus.
Time ran out but I was so close. What can I do? When the clock runs out in a mission, watch a short ad for 20 extra seconds and carry on where you left off.
The game stutters, what can I do? The game adapts its picture quality to your device automatically. If it still stutters, set the graphics quality to "Low" in the settings; there will be less smoke and a lower resolution.
Is my progress saved? Yes. Your cash, cars, upgrades, paint jobs and mission stars are saved to your account, so you can carry on from any device.
