About the game
Survival Run is a gate runner and shooter where you lead a small squad of soldiers down a ruined road crawling with zombies. Your squad runs forward on its own and fires automatically at anything in front of it, so all you have to do is steer with your finger or the mouse. You set off with just two soldiers, but pick the right gates and within a minute your squad grows into a crowd of hundreds.
Blue and red gates line the road: blue gates like +10, ร2 and ร3 grow your army, while red ones like โ5 and รท2 shrink it. Shoot barrels and weapon crates to upgrade your rifle to a machine gun, a shotgun and finally a rocket launcher. Meanwhile zombie hordes charge at you and every one that reaches your squad takes soldiers with it. Four original heroes fight alongside you: Kaya the grenadier, Ela the lightning sharpshooter, Atlas the shielded guard and Mira the field medic run ahead of your squad and break up the hordes with their special skills. There are 500 levels that move from sunset to night, snowy forests, the desert and a burning city, and every tenth level ends with a giant mutant boss. How to play
- On a phone: drag your finger left and right to steer your squad.
- On a computer: drag with the mouse or use A/D or โ โ. Press P to pause.
- Your soldiers run and shoot on their own. When you pass a row of gates, the gate under the middle of your squad is the one that counts.
- You can shoot every gate. Its number climbs as you hit it: a โ5 gate goes โ4, โ3 โฆ 0, turns blue and keeps growing +1, +2; a +10 gate becomes +11, +12. Hit a ร2 gate enough and it becomes ร3, while a รท2 gate breaks into a minus gate you can keep shooting up.
- Heroes run in front of your squad, hit harder and stop the zombies that reach them. Their skills fire on their own, or tap a hero button at the bottom right to use one right away. A hero who runs out of health sits out until the end of the level, but is never lost for good.
- Barrels and crates show their health on top. Break them to grab the reward (soldiers or a weapon upgrade); run into one unbroken and you lose soldiers.
- If your soldier count drops to zero the level is over. Reach the finish line, or beat the boss, to earn 1-3 stars and gold based on how many soldiers made it. Three stars means bringing at least three quarters of your biggest army home.

You can take up to 3 heroes into a level. Each hero levels up with gold from 1 to 100, gaining damage, fire rate and health every level. Skills unlock at level 5 and get stronger at 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100. Every hero's weapon also upgrades through 10 tiers, changing from standard to advanced, plasma and finally gold. You can even give your heroes your own names.

Weapon crates move your whole squad up one weapon tier: rifle โ machine gun โ shotgun โ rocket launcher. Every tier hits harder, and the rocket launcher's splash damage breaks up entire hordes in one shot.

Survival Run tips
- Don't skip the multipliers: with a big army, a ร2 or ร3 gate beats even the largest plus gate. With a small squad, something like +25 may be better, so do the maths before you pick.
- Shoot your gate: line up with the gate you want early and pour your fire into it. If both are red, pick the smaller minus, it can flip to a plus in a few seconds. With a big army, pushing a ร2 gate up to ร3 makes a huge difference.
- Balance your hero team: Kaya and Ela shine against big hordes, while Atlas's shield and Mira's heal are lifesavers on boss levels. Tap Atlas's button just before the boss slams the ground.
- Crates first: breaking a weapon crate makes every wave after it easier. If a barrel and a crate sit side by side, the crate is usually the better pick.
- Aim at the middle of the horde: your soldiers fire straight ahead, so steer towards the centre of the pack and every bullet finds a target.
- Sidestep the boss: a red ring appears under your squad before the giant mutant slams the ground. Cross to the other side of the road before the ring fills up.
- Spend your gold: starting soldiers, fire rate and damage upgrades are permanent. Later levels are very hard without upgrades and stronger heroes, and a few extra levels are often all it takes to get past a level you're stuck on.
FAQ
Is Survival Run free? Yes, completely free. It runs in your browser on phones, tablets and computers without any download.
How many levels are there? 500. Every level is always the same. The first few are a gentle tutorial of about 45 seconds; after that the road gets longer, the hordes get bigger and runners, armoured and exploding zombies show up more often. Later levels run past a minute and a half, a giant armoured brute guards every 5th level and a giant mutant every 10th. The setting changes every 25 levels: sunset, night, snow, desert and the burning city.
Is my progress saved? Yes. Cleared levels, stars, gold and upgrades are saved to your account. Each level unlocks once you've cleared the one before it.
How are points calculated? Clearing a level for the first time is worth 2 points (plus 1 for every 25 levels and 3 extra on boss levels). Every new star adds 1 point, and every 50 soldiers you bring to the finish adds another (up to 5).
Do heroes die for good? No. A hero who runs out of health only sits out until the end of that level; their level, weapon and name stay saved on your account.
I lost, what now? Once per level you can watch a short ad to regroup your squad and carry on from where you fell. When you win, you can also watch an ad to double your gold.
